Emergency Quota Act
-The Emergency Quota Act was made on May 19, 1921.
-Immigration was limited to 2% by the immigration act of 1924.
-Average annual flow of immigrants prior to 1921 was 175,983 from Nothern and Western Europe. 685,531 from other countires.
-In 1921, incoming immigrant population was setted down to 198,082 from Northern and Western Europe, and 158,367 from principally Southern and Eastern Europe (including other countries).
-This act set no limits on immigration from Latin America.
-Quota Act of 1921: limited immigration from each country to 3 % of total number who had immigrated in 1910 and set a yearly limit of 350,000
